THE PAPER WORKSHOP
Starting point of a generous material
October 8-9 2016 – Tasso Hostel Florence
Thank you all
Everything that happened on the 8th and 9th of October at the Tasso Hostel Florence made us fall even more in love with our project. We worked for months to put together these two wonderful OMG Florence days passionately curating after every single moment and detail. We knew we chose the right location, and the first chill of the season just added to the magical atmosphere… It was perfect!
And so we send a heartfelt thank you to all the people who contributed to the success of our first #OMGDeepDive The Paper Workshop: Cartasia, Lucca’s Paper Biennale, that introduced participants to the world of paper, Tre Effe Arti Grafiche which provided the Carton Design products, Alf Service for the unconditional support and for providing the photography set, Fattelo!, who guided us through the construction of the 01 Lamp with recycled materials and offered the prize-kit to a lucky participant. Thanks to Paola Lopreiato, who made sure to capture every moment in video, and to all our friends and family who were there for us every step of the way!
And last, but not least, our gratitude goes to Diana Beltrán Herrera, the artist and designer who led the workshop brilliantly, and to all the participants, who showed great interest and enthusiasm.
#OMGDeepDive is a format we designed where the name says it all. We create an experience, a moment, a workshop that goes in-depth into the topic. And given that The Paper Workshop was our first, and happily we had such decisively positive feedback, we’ve decided to continue our exploration of paper by building upon and replicating this “#OMGDeepDives” into “The Paper Series”, a set of workshops to continue our in-depth exploration of paper as an adaptable medium, its strengths, weaknesses and potential applications. We will develop this set of #OMGDeepDive workshops with Diana Beltran Herrera and participants will learn new approaches for making models and prototypes using paper, as well as other methods fundamental to the creative process and problem solving in fashion and design.
Stay tuned!
